Eligibility for the online round is open broadly to anyone 18 years of age or older residing in the United States.
Eligibility for the final round is by invitation only.

("Sponsor"), and its affiliates and subsidiaries, contractors, agents, and the immediate family members (spouse, siblings, children and parents) and those living in the same household as such individuals (whether or not related) (collectively referred to herein as the "Contest Entities") are not eligible to participant in either round. Further, former employees employed as Software Developers or similar computer programming roles by Sponsor are not eligible for to participant in either round. Any Entrant found to be disqualified as ineligible will not qualify for any prizes.
Invitation to the final round is given by the Sponsor based on performance in the online round and final round eligibility. The final round will consist of 32 participants (“Final Round Pool”) and participants will be invited in the order in which they finished in the online round until the Final Round Pool is full.
Entrants in the online round will solve as many algorithmic problems as they can in the 3 hour time limit. Each problem will be worth multiple points and Entrants can earn partial credit for solving some, but not all, of the test cases. Entrants will be ranked by the number of points earned during the time limit with ties broken based on time. The final round will consist of a single competitive problem where competitors will compete against each other (1) in a bracket style tournament, seeded based on performance in the online round (“Tournament Round”), and (2) in six rounds with all participants competing against each other simultaneously (each a “Melee Round”). The winner of each Melee Round will not be eligible to participate in the following Melee Rounds. Problems solved during the practice period (described below) will not count toward the online round or the final round.
Void where prohibited.
2. CONTEST PERIOD AND PRACTICE PERIOD:
There will be a practice round to allow Entrants to become familiar with how the problems will be presented. The practice problems will be available through a link from the codekerfuffle.com page starting on or about February 25, 2019.
The Contest's online round starts following the practice period on or about 10:00 a.m. Mountain time ("MT") on March 9, 2019 and ends at 1:00 p.m. MT on March 9, 2019 ("Online Contest Period"). The Contest website will be available through a link from the codekerfuffle.com page prior to the start of the Online Contest Period. Entrants utilizing the full 3 hour Online Contest Period will have the best chance at accumulating points. Entrants will be able to solve the problems in a variety of programming languages supported by HackerRank.
The Contest's final round will be held in-person at Sponsor’s location starting on or about 11:00 a.m. MT on March 16, 2019, and ends at 4:00 p.m. MT on the same day, or when the final round has determined the final score of all Entrants, whichever is sooner ("Final Contest Period"). For the final round, competitors can use the programming language of their choice; however, Sponsor will provide some starter code for languages it believes will be the most popular among the participants.
All time referenced herein is Mountain Time. Sponsor's clock is the official time keeping device for the Contest.
